Revision, Exam, Revision, Exam, Revision, Exam...holidays! I have not posted any news updated (since we have recieved a very good offer and are in the process of selling UBlam and handing it over to someone else) but I have been checking up on the experiment every day and still always telling people about it and asking them to tell others about it in other countries. We're nearly there...149 countries conquered (some of them I've never heard of) and here's the full list!!:

UNITED STATES, UNITED KINGDOM, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, GERMANY, FRANCE, NETHERLANDS, INDIA, ITALY, PORTUGAL, FINLAND, BELGIUM, NORWAY, SWEDEN, TURKEY, NEW ZEALAND, MALAYSIA, AUSTRIA ROMANIA, ISRAEL, SWITZERLAND, SPAIN, PHILIPPINES, ARGENTINA, SOUTH AFRICA, BRAZIL, IRELAND, MEXICO, JAPAN, CHINA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, DENMARK, SINGAPORE, GREECE, POLAND, CROATIA, NIGERIA, TAIWAN, GUAM, THAILAND, PAKISTAN, EGYPT, COLOMBIA, VENEZUELA, RUSSIA, HUNGARY, KOREA, SLOVENIA, SLOVAKIA, COSTA RICA, SAUDI ARABIA, CYPRUS, INDONESIA, IRAN, LITHUANIA, QATAR, KUWAIT, LEBANON, MALI, IRAQ, NICARAGUA, TUNISIA, CHILE, SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO, HONG KONG, VIETNAM, MOROCCO, CZECH REPUBLIC, FAROE ISLANDS, GUATEMALA, TAIWAN, PUERTO RICO, PAKISTAN, ESTONIA, SLOVAKIA, KENYA, LUXEMBOURG, UKRAINE, AFGHANISTAN, GHANA, ECUADOR, QATAR, PANAMA, JORDAN, KAZAKHSTAN, BANGLADESH, GABON, MALAWI, PERU, URUGUAY, MALTA, ICELAND, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, OMAN, ALBANIA, ANTILLES, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, MALDIVES, VIETNAM, IRAQ, AZERBAIJAN, BULGARIA, GEORGIA, GUERNSEY, BRUNEI, KYRGYZSTAN, LATVIA, CHAD, ALGERIA, BERMUDA, NEPAL, LIBYA, PARAGUAY, BOLIVIA, SYRIA, MONACO, HAITI, MOLDOVA, JERSEY, LUXEMBOURG, SRI LANKA, MONGOLIA, ECUADOR, MALTA, BELARUS, SUDAN, JAMAICA, ESTONIA, NEW CALEDONIA, BARBADOS, HONDURAS, ZIMBABWE, PARAGUAY, LIECHTENSTEIN, BAHAMAS, NEW CALEDONIA, REUNION, MAURITIUS, YEMEN, TUINISIA, NICARAGUA, BELARUS, LAOS, NIGERIA, UGANDA

If you know some one living in a country that's not on the list, then what are you waiting for, call them up and ask them to join in the experiment and hit the BLAM button (thank you)! That list should be pretty accurate, if there's any mistakes in the spelling, excuse me. It's actually the Map itself which picks up where people are hitting the Blam button from, so blame it for spelling, not me! It should also guess correctly (90% of the time) what country you're pressing the button from but if it doesn't then blame the map (again).

More exciting news is the number of downloads of our Blam widget over at The Yahoo Widget Gallery, over 10,000 downloads!

So in summary, the experiment is going amazingly well, but there is still 48 countries left to conquer and it will happen someday. I am trying everything I can to get the word going around and achieving my goal of getting at least one person in every country to hit the my button. So come on everyone, only 48 left to go, it is possible! If you do not hear from us after this post then it means UBlam has been sold and no longer in our hands

Here is another one of us (not looking so good):

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been abit busy replying to emails, sorting out the links and activating them, if I haven't answered your email please bear with me and I will definitely answer all of them. With 120 countries conquered and over 70,000 Blams. The United States is "kickin' ass" with 34,000 Blams followed by the UK with 15,000. Will any country ever overtake america? remember, everytime you hit the Blam, it will count towards your countries total number of Blams.

More people seem to be liking the idea and the Blamming community is definitely getting bigger with New and old Blammers visiting everyday. I'm hope they're enjoying it. I have even seen some blog and forum posts about UBlam which is great, keep it up!. It's also getting big at my university and word of mouth seems to be doing it job. Here's a picture of a group of our friends pointing at the BLAM.

Everything is getting better and better, many countries conquered, and Blamming seems to be getting more and more enjoyable as more sites join - we have a couple of new updates to mention.

As of today, all the links submitted to UBlam will be verified by us before they go on to the Blam, if they're not interesting I will ask the advertiser to make their webpage more enjoyable or refund their money. At the moment we are also working on making all the current webpages on the Blam as interesting as possible. So hopefully hitting the Blam will be a good experience for everyone.

Another new thing is our limiting add-on. To make it fair for all website owners who join UBlam, we have created a new update which does not allow a website owner to own more than 10% of UBlam, this way there will be something new with every Blam. At the moment the maximum number of entries anyone can have is 155, obviously this maximum number of entries will increase as more people join.

Back to university on Monday but only have several hours of lectures per week, should be plenty of time to revise and work on UBlam. Word-of-mouth seems to be doing its job as usual! Some people have written about UBlam in their own blogs and forums which is cool, hopefully the number of Blammers will continue to increase rapidly. In the mean time... Lets do some Blamage!

Just got back from a week long university field trip, quite tiring - worked every day from 8am to 10 pm. Of course I checked UBlam as soon as I got back and noticed some amazing stuff which was brilliant after a long tough week. Our UBlam Widget has been downloaded 3055 times until now (The Yahoo Widget Gallery) and hopefully it will continue increasing. Also that is just in one widget gallery, tons more in other places. That means at least 3055 people have the Blam button on their desktops which they can press anytime they feel bored.

Our Global Conquest is also nearly half way there (assuming there are 197 countries) with at least one person from 84 countries having press the Blam button. Before I left for my field trip we had about 3000 Blams from UK and about 2000 from USA, now, 11211 and 7005 from UK, which is a big boost and america has taken the lead. Some guy in america Blammed 500 times! maybe s/he was trying to help america take the lead or looking to find all the sites on UBlam, either way, I hope it gave her/him some nice websites to look at and pass their moment of boredom.

In the mean time, I have some emails to reply to and Christian is creating lots of new cool stuff for UBlam which will be up soon...

1760 downloads of the widget! 63 countries conquered...

UBlam has conquered almost 60 countries! Check out the 'Conquest' Tab on the left...

Also our 'Blam Button' widget over at konfabulator.com has had 200 downloads in its first 12 hours on release! You can get the widget and other interesting downloads, including an Internet Explorer Toolbar Icon and a Mac OS X Dashboard widget, by clicking on the 'Downloads' Tab on the right.

At last! Allow me to introduce the Internet Explorer Toolbar Blam Button available in the new "Get your Blam on" page (on the far right side)!

Christian has also created a few desktop Widgets giving you the Blam Button in its fully glory right there on your desktop. If nothing else, its a stress-relieving way to open an internet explorer window! Check them out.

Basically one thing we noticed is that people get bored for such brief periods of time that they will want to hit the Blam button without needing to visit this site (www.UBlam.com). So... We have made a smaller version of the Blam button which is put at the top of your internet explorer page. So at those moments its there when you want it.

Working hard, want a 2 minute break to see something interesting? Hit the Blam. Looking to see something cool in your quick moment of boredom? Hit the Blam, Just generally wondering what the Blam will give you next? Just Blam it!

Hey Blammers! My new mission is to encourage websites to put their most interesting content up on the Blam so that when you hit it you will find something that you will hopefully enjoy, like a brand new cutting-edge product, comic of the week, or a funny video etc.. This explains our recent focus on comic websites. So to anyone signing up, please link specifically to the best part of your site!

WOW! UBlam has had a sudden boost, and I don't know where its from, all I know is that Blam has conquered 43 countries already!!..and my list of websites is increasing. You can also see on the Conquest page that the map is filling up, the UK has the most number of 'Blammers' followed by the US. Hoping that there will be some more Asian 'Blammers' very soon and maybe someday there will be one Blammer in every country and the experiment will be successfull.

I've emailed and called some people with my idea, hopeing they will like it and will become big Blammers. Wish me luck!

Other news: we have created 'The MiniBlam':

To include this in your site see this page

To anyone who includes this on their site we are offering 1 free entry in our database!

It's finally finished! Welcome to UBlam!

Ok, so here's the idea again: When you hit the Blam button, it will take you to a random website from our list. Website owners pay for entries to add their link of their website to that list. The more entries they add, the higher the chance of their link being the random website that comes up when The Blam is pressed!! So I'm kinda selling Luck to them :) ...

We (Christian and I) have also finally made our Global Conquest page to see where our 'Blammers' are coming from. Now you can also keep track of how the experiment is going.

Wow! 11 countries in 6 days! Thanks everyone, keep it up! I recieved an email from a guy today asking to link the button to his website for a month if he paid me, I initially rejected the idea, but I went to a lecture a few weeks ago on "The Imperial College 55k Entrepreneurs Challenge", which is basically a competition where people come up with a business idea and a business plan and if it's good enough, they win money. First prize is 25,000!!

So I thought of a business idea that could get us into the competition. I could sell links to where the button leads to, with the biggest investor having the highest chance that the button will link to his site. And don't worry, I won't allow any boring sites on, I'll try and only allow interesting ones so maybe the button could also become kind of a boredom killer. I'll started working more on the idea right now, I also have a friend in Togo (!) who I'm going to call and ask him to hit my button. I've actually been planning on calling him and catch up on things, but now I have 2 reasons to call him :)

Here's a little online experiment. Basically whenever you push the button on the front page, our system records which country and which town you have hit the button from (hopefully it will be accurate). The plan is to see if we can get at least one person in every country hitting the button. I've already done my hit from London (UK) and called my aunt in Germany and she has hit is too. So that's two countries conquered already!!! Right now I'm working on creating a map which enables everyone else to track my Global Conquest too. Help me get all the countries, call up family, friends and everyone you know in other countries and tell them to press the big red button. It is a big challenge to get every single country hitting it but if I have to, I will travel to those countries and hit the button myself! I'll keep you posted on my progress.
